About the role
Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Network Administrator / Network Support Engineer to support day-to-day network operations and provide Tier 1/2 network support.
The candidate will work under the guidance of senior network engineers and will be responsible for monitoring network devices, performing routine maintenance and patching, handling basic configurations, troubleshooting network issues, and supporting the overall network management service.
The environment includes Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco Meraki switching and wireless, Aruba EdgeConnect / Silver Peak SD-WAN, and network segmentation supporting both IT and Operational Technology environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor network devices and infrastructure for availability and performance.
• Perform routine network administration and operational tasks.
• Assist with the management of Palo Alto firewalls, Meraki switches/wireless, and Aruba EdgeConnect SD-WAN.
• Perform network device patching, firmware upgrades, and routine maintenance.
• Maintain configuration backups and verify device health.
• Perform basic configuration changes under senior engineer supervision.
• Assist with VLAN, switch port, DHCP, wireless, and basic routing configurations.
• Assist with approved firewall rule and VPN changes.
• Support SD-WAN configuration and operational activities.
• Provide Tier 1/2 support for network incidents.
• Troubleshoot common connectivity, LAN, Wi-Fi, and network access issues.
• Monitor alerts and respond to network incidents according to defined procedures.
• Escalate complex or critical issues to the Senior Network Engineer.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
• Assist with maintaining network segmentation between IT and OT environments.
• Maintain network inventory, device information, and technical documentation.
• Participate in regular network maintenance and service activities.
Required Technical Skills
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of TCP/IP networking.
• Understanding of VLANs, switching, routing, DHCP, DNS, and Wi-Fi.
• Basic knowledge of firewall concepts and VPNs.
• Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls is preferred.
• Familiarity with Cisco Meraki switching and wireless is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Aruba EdgeConnect / Silver Peak SD-WAN is preferred.
• Experience with network device patching and firmware upgrades.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for LAN, WAN, wireless, and connectivity issues.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
Preferred Certifications
• CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
• Palo Alto Networks certification is a plus.
• Cisco / Meraki certification is a plus.
• Aruba networking certification is a plus.
