About the role
·Key Responsibilities
IT Procurement & Asset Management
·Plan, evaluate, and procure IT hardware, software, and services in alignment with business needs and budgets.
·Vendor management and cost negotiation.
·Maintain and update IT inventory with proper asset tagging and tracking.
·Ensure compliance with lifecycle management policies for IT assets.
IT Inventory Control
·Implement and manage inventory tracking systems for laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, and accessories.
·Regularly audit inventory to ensure accountability and prevent asset loss.
Physical Security of IT Equipment
·Enforce physical security protocols for critical IT assets.
·Coordinate with Admin/Security teams to secure server rooms, data storage, and endpoint devices.
·Implement locks, surveillance, and secure storage as needed.
Firewall and Network Security
·Basic management and monitoring of firewalls (hardware/software).
·Review logs, apply rules, and escalate any breach or anomaly.
·Coordinate with third-party vendors or internal experts for advanced configurations.
Wi-Fi and Network Device Management
·Administer enterprise Wi-Fi devices, SSID configuration, guest access, and bandwidth policies.
·Regular firmware updates and performance optimization.
Active Directory & User Management
·Create, modify, and disable AD user accounts as per HR workflow.
·Assign roles, groups, and implement password policies.
·Ensure data access policies are enforced across user groups.
Laptop Allotment & User Onboarding
·Allocate devices to users as per policy.
·Configure user profiles and software setups.
·Ensure checklist-based onboarding and deactivation procedures.
Software Updates & Patch Management
·Ensure all endpoint and server systems are updated with the latest OS and security patches.
·Schedule routine maintenance windows and minimize downtime.
Remote Support & Troubleshooting
·Provide Tier 1 & Tier 2 remote assistance for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
·Utilize remote desktop tools and ticketing systems for issue tracking.
File Servers and Backup Administration
·Monitor file server availability, access, and performance.
·Implement and validate routine backups (onsite/cloud).
·Maintain backup logs and restoration protocols.
·Team Management & Coordination
·Supervise IT support staff and assign daily/weekly tasks.
·Set up SOPs for issue escalation and resolution.
·Conduct performance reviews and ensure continuous upskilling.
·Coordinate with departments for upcoming IT needs and project planning.
·Required Skills
·Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with users, vendors, and management.
·Ability to train non-technical staff and document SOPs effectively.
·Troubleshooting mindset with the ability to prioritize critical issues.
·Preferred Qualifications
·Degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering.
·Certifications like ITIL, CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft (MCSA), or similar.
·10+ years of relevant IT operations experience.
