About the role
- Position: Solution Architect, Unified OAM for 2G, 4G and 5G RAN
- Location: Gurgaon
- Experience: 12+ years in 4G/5G OAM product development, plus years leading delivery of OAM programs
- The role: own the OAM architecture and design from discovery to design sign-off, then guide the team through implementation and release
- Own the OAM architecture: a RAT-independent core (boot orchestrator, configuration, fault, performance, process health, software and log, inventory managers) with RAT adapters kept separate
- Define one configuration tree and one alarm and counter framework across 2G, 4G and 5G, with conflict checks on shared resources
- Design the northbound layer (SNMP agent and MIB, XML or NETCONF server, syslog client) and the O1 interface to an SMO
- Design the RU M-plane manager (NETCONF client, YANG models) for 4T4R and 32T32R massive MIMO RUs, including array, beamforming and calibration objects
- Design the fronthaul and sync manager: clock priority (local GNSS, external PTP, SyncE), hardware holdover and cell gating signalled to L1
- Define the HAL so the same OAM runs on the platforms like Qualcomm and Intel
- Design process health supervision and recovery levels
- Lead onsite discovery: study the existing OAM and platform, confirm assumptions and scope additions, and take the design to customer sign-off
- Map 3GPP and O-RAN requirements (CM, FM, PM, trace) to design components and the test plan
- Break the design into work for core OAM, RAT, M-plane, northbound and base platform teams
- Review design, code and test results; mentor senior leads and developers
- Work with the test lead on a framework with traceable test cases, simulators and automated regression
- Drive debugging and root-cause analysis on integration, performance and field issues
- Be the technical contact for senior customer and internal stakeholders
- Escalate risks, dependencies and gaps early, and keep the program head informed
- 12+ years in 4G/5G OAM product development, plus additional years driving delivery of OAM development programs
- Has architected OAM for both RAN and Core, from requirements through design, development, testing and deployment
- Has led large OAM development, sustenance and customer support programs
- Hands-on with 2G BTS O&M (Abis OML) or multi-RAT OAM
- DPDK, PREEMPT-RT Linux, and platform HAL or BMC integration experience
- Experience with massive MIMO RU management (arrays, beamforming, calibration)
- Exposure to Intel or Qualcomm based baseband platforms
- Experience running a customer-facing design or discovery phase
- Test automation with pytest or Robot Framework and simulators
