About the role
• Overseeing electrical projects from conceptualization to completion, including developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and managing resources to meet deadlines.
• Performing detailed electrical design activities and calculations, such as breaker sizing, panel design, generator set sizing, cable sizing, earthing/grounding calculations, and lighting calculations.
• Preparing detailed engineering documentation, including single-line diagrams (SLD), schematics, equipment layouts, cable schedules, and technical specifications/data sheets for components like alternators, switchgear, control panels, and circuit breakers.
• Liaising with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, contractors, suppliers, clients, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless project execution and integration with other systems.
• Supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including gensets, control systems, and power distribution networks. This often involves on-site presence and technical support.
• Ensuring all designs and work comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO8528, UL2200)
• Good Knowledge of design, Layouting/packaging within available space envelope, GA Drawings such as 2D drawing, 3D models
• Detailed engineering drawings & Bill of Material for complete electrical systems of DG Set and associated customer / user interfaces.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software – CREO, EPLAN, AutoCAD in product assembly & schematic, solid parametric modelling, detailing.
• Good Knowledge & Conversant with design metrics & analysis for Alternators, control, power and synchronisation panels, Control Systems, Remote monitoring, Switchgears, Genset Controllers Deepsea/Woodward/Sedemac/Comap/procom/ Datacom etc)
• Product data management software like Windchill
