OT-IT Integration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced OT Engineer / IT-OT Integration Lead with expertise in integrating Operational Technology (OT) systems with Information Technology (IT) systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in OT systems, industrial automation, Ignition SCADA, PLCs, industrial networking, Edge computing, and IIoT, with the ability to design, implement, and manage IT-OT integration solutions that optimize efficiency, reliability, and security.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and technology partners to define requirements and objectives for IT-OT integration projects.
• Design, develop, and implement integration solutions that enable secure communication and data exchange between OT and IT systems.
• Develop and integrate software for IIoT gateways, Edge computing devices, SCADA systems, OPC Servers, PLCs, and Historians.
• Design, configure, and develop Ignition SCADA solutions, including Ignition Gateway, Perspective/Vision applications, Tag providers, UDTs, alarming, historian, reporting, and database integration.
• Configure and manage Ignition Industrial Edge gateways for distributed industrial applications and edge-based data collection.
• Develop and integrate Ignition-based solutions with PLCs, OPC UA/DA servers, databases, MES, Historians, and enterprise IT systems.
• Develop software and integration solutions for IT platforms such as AWS IoT, Azure IoT, and other industrial IoT platforms.
• Develop and maintain software applications, scripts, APIs, and interfaces for integrating OT devices, sensors, PLCs, control systems, and SCADA platforms with IT systems.
• Develop Python/Jython scripts within Ignition for automation, data processing, system integration, alarming, reporting, and custom application functionality.
• Configure and deploy industrial network infrastructure, topologies, protocols, and security mechanisms to support IT-OT integration initiatives.
• Integrate and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus.
• Design and implement data flows between Ignition, PLCs, Edge devices, Historians, SQL databases, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Configure and manage Ignition tags, UDTs, transaction groups, alarm pipelines, named queries, database connections, and visualization components.
• Support deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of Ignition SCADA and Industrial Edge environments.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement security measures to protect OT systems from cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks.
• Provide technical support, training, knowledge transfer, and documentation for IT-OT integration and Ignition-based solutions to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in IT-OT integration, Ignition SCADA, Industry 4.0, industrial automation, and cybersecurity.

• 6+ years of experience in OT engineering, industrial automation, SCADA, and IT-OT integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA / Ignition Platform, including Gateway configuration, Vision/Perspective, Tags, UDTs, Alarming, Historian, Reporting, and Database integration.
• Experience in Ignition Industrial Edge, including Edge Gateway configuration, deployment, data collection, and integration with industrial systems.
• Experience integrating Ignition with PLCs, OPC UA servers, SQL databases, Historians, MES systems, and enterprise/cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in OT protocols and standards such as Modbus, OPC UA, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP.
• Strong understanding of OT/IT concepts, industrial networking, system architecture, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience with PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA systems, and Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
• Understanding and experience with Edge platforms and Edge software from cloud providers such as AWS Greengrass, AWS Outposts, Azure IoT Edge, and similar technologies.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python/Jython, Java, Node.js, C, and C++, along with relevant operating systems.
• Experience configuring Ignition Industrial Edge gateways and edge data centers.
• Experience with vendor and partner platforms such as Ignition, Litmus, PTC, OSIsoft/AVEVA, and other industrial IoT/OT platforms.
• Experience with SQL databases, APIs, web services, MQTT, REST, and data integration technologies is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Industry 4.0, IIoT, Edge computing, cloud integration, and industrial data architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Ignition certification such as Inductive University credentials / Ignition Core Certification is preferred.
• Experience with MQTT and industrial data pipelines.
• Experience with AWS IoT, Azure IoT, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, or similar cloud/edge platforms.
• Experience with MES, Historian, Digital Twin, and Industrial DataOps solutions.
• Experience designing highly available and secure Ignition Gateway architectures.
