About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret circuit schematics and convert them into multilayer PCB layouts using CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCAD).
- Define PCB stack-up, impedance control, and design for signal integrity and power integrity.
- Collaborate with hardware design engineers to ensure proper component placement, routing, and thermal management.
- Create fabrication and assembly documentation (Gerber, ODB++, pick and place, BOM, etc.).
- Perform DRC (Design Rule Check), ERC (Electrical Rule Check), and DFM/DFT reviews.
- Coordinate with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors to address technical queries and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Participate in PCB prototyping, bring-up, and debug support during product validation.
- Maintain component libraries and ensure CAD data integrity across projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Firmware, Testing) to meet product development timelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in PCB design and layout for analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems.
- Proficiency in one or more EDA tools.
- Experience with multilayer PCB designs, impedance control, and high-speed signal routing.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC best practices, thermal management, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Strong understanding of IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351, IPC-A-600/610).
- Familiarity with PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with power electronics, automotive, or railway electronics designs.
- Familiarity with simulation tools for SI/PI or thermal analysis.
- Exposure to mechanical design interfaces (e.g., 3D CAD integration, STEP model export).
- Knowledge of relevant compliance standards (UL, CE, ISO, ROHS, etc.).
