Job Description:
Harman is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of complex software systems. This is a strategic role that combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership to drive innovation and engineering excellence across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end design and architecture of scalable, high-performance applications.
- Act as a technical advisor and mentor for engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Own and drive best practices in coding, architecture, DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Identify and resolve critical technical issues and architectural challenges.
- Promote and uphold engineering excellence, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong track record of technical leadership.
- Proficiency in PHP 8, with experience in developing and scaling enterprise-level applications.
- Solid experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of SDLC processes and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and organizational levels.
- Experience with Progress 4GL.
Nice to Have: Familiarity with ColdFusion platforms.
