About the role
Responsibilities:
- Product surface: The customer application - viewer, markup, review and correction workflows, register views and exports. Interfaces built for engineers working under time pressure.
- API and data: FastAPI services on a multi-tenant Postgres schema, with isolation enforced at the database. The correction loop that feeds user markups back into extraction quality.
- Shipping: Your own deployments behind feature flags, with telemetry that shows whether they worked.
What Success Looks Like in 90 Days:
- Day 30: You have shipped to production and know the schema, the tenancy model and the deploy path.
- Day 60: A review and correction workflow you designed is live, with corrections flowing back to extraction.
- Day 90: You own the product surface roadmap with the CTO, and every release ships behind flags with telemetry.
Requirements:
- Python and Next.js, both in production.
- 4+ years shipping production web applications to real users.
- TypeScript as a default, with FastAPI or a strong path into it.
- Postgres beyond the ORM: you read query plans and fix indexes.
- Exposure to multi-tenant systems, RBAC or row-level security.
