Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup & recovery, replication, security, and troubleshooting in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
- Monitor database performance and perform performance tuning.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Configure and maintain PostgreSQL replication (Streaming Replication/Logical Replication).
- Monitor database health, storage, and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot database performance issues, locking, deadlocks, and slow queries.
- Optimize SQL queries and indexes for better performance.
- Implement database security, user roles, and access management.
- Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations.
- Work with development teams to support application deployments.
- Ensure database availability, reliability, and high performance.
- Maintain database documentation and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL Architecture.
- Experience in PostgreSQL Installation, Configuration, and Administration.
- Good understanding of SQL, PL/pgSQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers.
- Hands-on experience in Query Optimization and Performance Tuning.
- Experience with Backup & Recovery using pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of High Availability and Replication.
- Experience in Database Monitoring and Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Indexing, Partitioning, Vacuum, Analyze, and Autovacuum.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Basic Shell Scripting knowledge.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL extensions and tools.
