About the role
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in data visualization, data modeling, and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building dashboards, working with large datasets, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Gather and understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Develop and optimize data models using Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources (SQL, APIs, Excel, cloud platforms).
- Write complex DAX expressions for calculations, KPIs, and aggregations.
- Perform data modeling (star schema, snowflake schema).
- Optimize dashboards for performance and scalability.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and automated refresh schedules.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data/reporting issues.
- Create documentation for dashboards, reports, and data models.
Requirements:
- Experience: 6-8 Years.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering / Analytics.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft Power BI / Azure) are a plus.
- Key Competencies: Dashboarding and Visualization, Data Modeling, Business Intelligence and Reporting, Stakeholder Collaboration, Data Quality, and Governance.
Technical Skills:
- Strong experience in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M language).
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.
- Experience with data modeling concepts (Fact/Dimension tables).
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema).
- Experience with data sources like SQL Server, Oracle, Excel, and APIs.
- Familiarity with Azure (ADF, Synapse, Databricks) or other cloud platforms.
- Understanding of performance tuning and optimization.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
- Experience with Python/SQL scripting.
- Exposure to Azure Data Factory (ADF) / Databricks.
- Knowledge of data lake/big data platforms.
- Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for BI solutions.
- Experience in Agile / Scrum methodology.
