About the role
Automotive Design & Development Engineer – Interior & Exterior Trims
Automotive Product Development professional with 12+ years of experience in designing and developing Interior and Exterior Trim components from concept through Start of Production (SOP). Strong expertise in plastic component design, vehicle interiors, door panels, tailgates, pillars, steering trims, acoustic parts, and control systems for passenger vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and development of automotive trim components from concept, feasibility, design release, validation, tooling, and SOP.
- Develop 3D/2D designs, BOMs, technical specifications, RFQs, and engineering documentation.
- Perform DFM, DFA, DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, gap & flush, clash and clearance analysis.
- Collaborate with Styling, Architecture, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers, and Cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with design, packaging, cost, and quality requirements.
- Drive supplier coordination, tooling development, product validation, vehicle builds, plant trials, and industrialization activities.
- Ensure compliance with automotive regulations including ECE R11, ECE R21, ECE R26, and crashworthiness requirements.
- Support design reviews, issue resolution, change management, and continuous product improvement using PLM and JIRA tools.

Preferred Experience: Experience working on global automotive programs for OEMs such as Renault, Dacia, Volkswagen, Skoda, Nissan, Volvo, Daimler, and BMW, with exposure to vehicle development from concept to production.
