About the role
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of internal application behavior and tech operations across data centers and applications.
- Analyze problems, diagnose, and fix low-complexity bugs of low complexity when appropriate.
- Work with developers to identify and resolve more complicated problems.
- Address urgent issues quickly and work within and measure against customer SLAs.
- Adapt the installer, shell script, and Perl scripts and aggressively automate manual tasks through scripting.
- Provide feedback from customers/users to the team.
- Find recurring issues, problem-solve, and get them fixed.
- Maintain an ongoing record of problem analysis and resolution activity in an on-call tracking system.
- Proactively monitor production and non-production environments and applications.
- Develop smaller complexity features and utilities in existing system components to enhance productivity.
Requirements:
- Good exposure to MySQL and writing SQL queries. Automation scripting:
- More advanced tools preferred: Ex: Python, Shell.
- Prior experience in production support.
- Understanding of Linux/unix basic commands and job scheduling (cron).
- Good to have prior programming experience; Java preferred.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
