About the role

SNOWFLAKE DEVELOPER

Offshore Delivery | Finance Data & Analytics

Experience

5-8 years

Location

Engagement

Full-time / Project Deployment

Work Model

3 days per week in Morgan office

Role Summary
The Snowflake Developer will build and support scalable Finance data solutions on Snowflake. The role will translate approved business and semantic requirements into reliable data models, reusable SQL transformations, dynamic tables, data-quality controls and production-ready ELT pipelines supporting General Ledger, Revenue, Spend and P&L use cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop logical and physical Snowflake data structures, including fact, dimension, aggregate and consumption-layer models.
  • Build reusable SQL transformations and Snowflake equivalents for prioritised Finance and General Ledger measures.
  • Implement MTD, QTD, YTD and other period-based calculations using views, dynamic tables and reusable calculation patterns where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines, source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, joins, hierarchies and conformed dimensions.
  • Partner with data architects, semantic modellers, business analysts and Finance stakeholders to implement approved definitions and metadata requirements.
  • Optimise SQL, data models, warehouses and workloads for performance, scalability, maintainability and cost-aware operation.
  • Embed profiling, validation, reconciliation, lineage, traceability and audit controls across the data lifecycle.
  • Create unit, integration, regression and performance test evidence; investigate defects and support user-acceptance testing.
  • Contribute to code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, release controls, technical documentation, runbooks and production-readiness activities.
  • Provide production support, root-cause analysis and knowledge transfer to customer and offshore support teams.
  • Communicate assumptions, dependencies, risks and design decisions clearly while collaborating across offshore and global delivery teams.
Required Experience and Skills
  • 5-8 years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, business intelligence or analytical platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and advanced SQL, including complex joins, window functions, CTEs, views, stored procedures and performance tuning.
  • Practical experience with dimensional modelling, facts, dimensions, aggregates, hierarchies and enterprise analytical data models.
  • Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and implementing source-to-target mappings and transformation logic.
  • Experience with Snowflake dynamic tables, streams, tasks, stages, file formats, data loading and workload optimisation.
  • Experience implementing data-quality checks, reconciliation controls, lineage and defect-resolution processes.
  • Working knowledge of Git-based development, CI/CD, Agile delivery and controlled production releases.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Domain and Technical Skills
  • Finance or regulated-industry data experience, preferably covering General Ledger, P&L, Revenue, Spend, reconciliation or drill-down reporting.
  • Experience with Python for data processing, automation, validation or API integration.
  • Exposure to orchestration and transformation tools such as dbt, Airflow, Azure Data Factory or equivalent enterprise platforms.
  • Understanding of semantic models, metadata, data contracts and governance requirements.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
  • SnowPro Core or an advanced Snowflake certification.
