JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PURCHASE HEAD – STEEL BUSINESS UNIT Designation: Purchase Head – Steel Division Location Preference: Hyderabad Profile  Graduate in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.  MBA in Supply Chain Management / Operations Management preferred. Experience  Minimum 15+ years of experience in Purchase / Supply Chain Management.  Experience in procurement of CRSS, HRPO, CRCA, etc. Job Responsibilities and Skills  Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.  Build and maintain a strong vendor network for raw materials and services.  Ensure cost competitiveness and supplier performance.  Optimize inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery with minimal cost and lead-time.  Maintain optimal inventory levels across plants and warehouses.  Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Business Development, and Finance teams.  Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and quality system requirements.  Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives across procurement and logistics.  Utilize ERP / MRP / SCM tools for operational efficiency and transparency. Required Skills and Qualifications:  Strong knowledge of steel procurement and supply chain operations.  Experience in vendor development and supplier management.  Expertise in strategic sourcing and negotiation.  Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics.  Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
