About the role
We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer with strong expertise in both manual and automation testing to join the IBM/SAP Labs team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in testing SAP BTP applications, backend AI applications, API automation, and end-to-end workflow testing. This role requires a strong automation mindset and the ability to build scalable and reliable test frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of enterprise applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and workflows.
- Test SAP BTP applications and backend AI-based services.
- Develop automation frameworks and improve test coverage.
- Execute API testing and service-level validation.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution.
- Participate in sprint planning, test planning, and release activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and automation practices.
Requirements:
- 5-9 years of experience in manual and automation testing.
- Strong experience in end-to-end functional automation.
- Hands-on experience with API automation testing.
- Experience working with SAP BTP applications.
- Exposure to backend AI application testing.
- Strong knowledge of Selenium and Playwright.
- Experience with automation frameworks such as: PyTest JUnit Test NG Cypress (API-focused usage)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, JavaScript/React
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in distributed systems testing.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test automation integration.
- Exposure to cloud-based enterprise applications.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
