About the role

About the role

Couchbase is hiring a Salesforce Developer with 3–5 years of experience to build and maintain the CRM platform that runs our lead-to-cash process. You will join the Business Applications team and deliver development across Sales Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, and a busy set of integrations with finance, marketing and revenue tools.

Our org has been live since well before 2018 and carries a mix of Apex, Flows, legacy Process Builder and approval-process automation. A large part of this role is helping modernise that automation safely while delivering new features for Sales, Deal Desk, Finance and Professional Services, with guidance from senior team members.

Key responsibilities
  • Design, build and test Apex classes, triggers, batch and scheduled jobs, and Lightning Web Components to well-documented standards.
  • Build and maintain record-triggered and scheduled Flows, and migrate legacy Process Builder, Workflow Rules and approval-process logic to Flow.
  • Extend Salesforce CPQ: product and price rules, quote templates, custom quote line logic, Advanced Approvals and the quote-to-order handoff.
  • Support document generation and e-signature flows in Conga Composer and DocuSign.
  • Build and troubleshoot integrations with NetSuite, Certinia PSA, Clari, Marketo, LeanData, ZoomInfo and others, working with our Workato and Celigo recipes and Salesforce REST, Bulk and Platform Event APIs.
  • Implement data-model changes on Opportunity, Account and related objects, including picklists, multi-select fields, record types, validation rules and rollups, with reporting impact in mind.
  • Maintain record locking, sharing, profiles, permission sets and permission set groups, keeping access least-privilege.
  • Deploy changes through sandboxes via changesets, DevOps Center, following our source control, code review and rollback practices.
  • Keep Apex test coverage and quality high, and monitor errors, governor limits and integration failures.
  • Translate requests from Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Marketing and PS into technical designs, estimates and documentation.
  • Review Salesforce's three releases a year and managed-package upgrades for impact on our customisations.
Required qualifications
  • 3–5 years of hands-on Salesforce development, with at least 2 years on Sales Cloud.
  • Solid Apex (triggers, async Apex, batch, queueable) and SOQL, with a good understanding of governor limits and bulkification.
  • Strong Flow skills; experience migrating Process Builder or Workflow Rules to Flow is a plus.
  • Hands-on Salesforce CPQ experience (price rules, product rules, quote templates), at least 1 year preferred.
  • Integration experience with REST APIs and Named Credentials; will be good to have
  • Working knowledge of the security model: profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, approval processes and record locking.
  • Owning solutioning end to end, from development to testing to deployment
  • Clear written communication; able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification.
Nice to have
  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ Advanced Approvals
  • Background in Quote-to-Cash architecture
  • Experience with Custom Metadata Types, Platform Events, and Event-Driven Architectures
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g. Platform Developer II, CPQ Specialist)
  • Exposure to Einstein Activity Capture
  • Exposure on Salesforce integration to Claude, Gemini via MCP servers
