SAP BW / BPC Technical Consultant Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Good communication in English to interact with EU customers and distributed project teams is required.
• Perform the technical transfer of SAP BW and SAP BPC objects between SAP BW 7.5 system landscapes.
• Migrate and validate BW data models, transformations, process chains, queries, BPC models, script logic, Excel workbooks, and related technical objects.
• Analyze dependencies and ensure that transported or migrated objects are complete, consistent, and operational in the target system.
• Adapt and troubleshoot transformation logic, BW-ABAP routines, BAdIs, VBA macros, FOX formulas, and BPC script logic whenever required.
• Execute technical validation, unit testing, reconciliation, and defect resolution after object transfer.
• Support BPC EPM Add-in reports, input forms, and Data Manager packages, including troubleshooting of data loads and execution issues.
• Work closely with business users, functional consultants, and technical teams to clarify requirements and coordinate migration activities.
• Document migrated objects, code changes, dependencies, test results, known issues, and handover information.
• Follow SAP development, transport, naming, documentation, and quality standards throughout the assignment.

Skills

Domain

• Good understanding of enterprise planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes supported by SAP BW and SAP BPC.

Technical

• Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP BW 7.5, including InfoObjects, InfoProviders, data flows, transformations, DTPs, process chains, BEx queries, and transport management.
• Strong SAP BPC knowledge, including models, dimensions, script logic, EPM Add-in workbooks, input forms, and Data Manager processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis, validation, report maintenance, and workbook troubleshooting.
• Strong VBA skills to understand, debug, modify, and enhance macros used in Excel workbooks.
• Working knowledge of BW-ABAP, particularly transformation routines, debugging, code adjustments, and BAdI implementations.
• Knowledge of FOX formulas, planning functions, and planning sequences in BW Integrated Planning or BPC Embedded is beneficial.
• Ability to perform object dependency analysis, technical testing, data reconciliation, and issue resolution during migration.
• Exposure to SAP Datasphere is an additional advantage.
• SAP BW or SAP BPC certification is an additional advantage.

• Clear communication and coordination skills to work effectively with business users, developers, and international stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned migration objects, and collaborate effectively within a project team.
• Structured approach to documentation, testing, quality checks, and status reporting.

Work Location: As per project requirement
