SAP Commerce (Hybris) Developer

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP Commerce (Hybris) applications and scalable backend services in Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Work across SAP Commerce extensions, models, services, DAOs, facades, controllers, and OCC REST APIs.
• Implement data modelling (Items.xml, relations, types, attributes, inheritance) and load/manage business data through Impex.
• Implement Order Management flows — cart creation, checkout, delivery and payment, order placement and processing, consignment creation, status updates, fulfilment, and cancellation.
• Build and maintain CronJobs, Jobs, Events, Business Processes, and Process Engine logic; handle Hot Folder and SFTP/FTP file-based data ingestion.
• Develop inbound and outbound integrations with ERP, OMS, CRM, payment gateways, and inventory systems.
• Troubleshoot integration, API, data synchronisation, indexing, and order-processing issues; deliver root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Participate in code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and support testing across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.

Mandatory Skills:

• SAP Commerce / Hybris: 6–8 years hands-on; architecture and extension structure; Items.xml, data modelling, relations, type system, model/service/DAO/facade layers, controllers, OCC web services; Impex; Catalog, Product, Category, Customer, Cart, Order, Price, Stock, Promotion, and Inventory; Order Management and Checkout; CronJobs, Events, Business Processes, Process Engine; Hot Folder; Solr/product search; Ehcache; application and server log troubleshooting.
• Java: Core Java, OOP, Collections, exception handling, Streams and Lambdas, multithreading/concurrency, Java 8+ features; clean code, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Spring / Spring Boot: Dependency Injection, Spring MVC, Security, Data, exception handling, and configuration management; developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Microservices: Microservice architecture, service-to-service communication, REST APIs, API authentication/authorisation, distributed systems, logging and monitoring, error handling and retries; synchronous and asynchronous communication.
• Integrations: Hot Folder, SFTP/FTP, file-based integrations (CSV/XML/JSON), REST/SOAP and OCC APIs, Kafka or other messaging, event-driven architecture, SMTP/email, and middleware-based integrations; inbound/outbound data synchronisation.
• Database & Search: MySQL, SQL Server, or similar; SQL and FlexibleSearch; Solr indexing and search, including troubleshooting indexing issues.
• Development & DevOps: Git, Maven/Gradle/Ant, CI/CD pipelines, basic Docker and cloud exposure, Agile/Scrum delivery; Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Postman.

Education & Key Competencies:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also considered. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills, good communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team, understand existing enterprise applications, and deliver safely in a fast-paced Agile environment.
