SAP Functional Lead

The SAP Lead will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and support of the SAP solutions, specifically for MM (Materials Management), PM (Plant Maintenance), and WM (Warehouse Management). This role requires extensive SAP experience, with a strong focus on delivering efficient, scalable, and high-performing solutions across the business. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the internal/contract IT team and collaborating with key business stakeholders to drive process improvements, ensure system integrity, and optimize business outcomes.

• Lead and manage the SAP team, focusing on MM, PM, and WM modules, ensuring effective delivery of SAP solutions.
• Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and translate them into SAP system requirements and enhancements.
• Drive end-to-end SAP bug fixes, enquiries, and enhancements, ensuring timely delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure alignment with SAP best practices and business objectives.
• Ensure continuous improvement and optimization of SAP processes to meet evolving business needs.
• Oversee integration with other business systems and third-party applications.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide high-level support for critical incidents and system performance issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for SAP configurations, processes, and system enhancements.
• Stay up-to-date with new SAP releases, updates, and emerging technologies, and evaluate their applicability to the business.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and external partners as necessary for delivery and support in area.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10 to 15 years of overall SAP experience with deep expertise in SAP MM, PM, and WM modules.
• Proven track record of leading medium SAP team.
• In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, configuration, and integration across various modules.
• Strong project management experience with a history of delivering complex deliverables on time and within budget.
• Experience managing and leading SAP teams, with a focus on SAP functional and technical resources.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with business leaders and technical teams across the globe.
• Experience working in a large enterprise or captive IT environment is preferred.
• SAP certifications in relevant modules (MM, PM, WM) will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
• Familiarity with complex highly integrated SAP landscapes.
• Experience with business process re-engineering and change management.
• Exposure to new-age technologies e.g. RPA/AI/SAP BTP, etc.
