About the role
We are looking for a seasoned
SAPSolution Architect : leading complex
SAP implementation and AMS (Application Management Support) engagements, while
also acting as a senior technical voice in presales, RFP responses, and
solution estimation. This is a client-facing, delivery-accountable role for
someone who has grown through hands-on functional or technical SAP work into
program leadership, and who is equally comfortable in a client steering
committee, a solution design workshop, or an internal effort-estimation review.
The ideal candidate has broad
exposure across SAP Business One (B1), SAP ECC, and SAP S/4HANA (Public Cloud,
Private Cloud, and On-Premise), and has led at least a few end-to-end
implementations plus long-running AMS/support engagements. Beyond project delivery,
this person will play an active role in strengthening the practice itself –
shaping proposals, mentoring consultants, and contributing to the SAP AI and
automation roadmap.
1. Presales
& RFP Support
•RFP /
RFI response ownership – lead the
solution narrative, scope definition, and win themes for SAP RFPs and RFIs,
working closely with the sales and commercial teams.
•Solution
design for proposals – translate a
prospect's business requirements into a credible SAP solution approach across
B1, ECC, and S/4HANA landscapes.
•Client
presentations – represent the
practice in solution walkthroughs, orals, and technical clarification rounds
with prospective clients.
•Competitive positioning – articulate why Noblq's SAP
delivery model, accelerators, and AI-driven tooling are differentiated versus
competing bidders.
2. Estimation
& Solution Architecture
•Effort
and cost estimation – build bottom-up
and parametric estimates for implementation, rollout, upgrade, and AMS deals,
with clear assumptions and risk buffers.
•Solution blueprinting – define target architecture
(on-premise, private cloud, public cloud, or hybrid), integration approach, and
data migration strategy.
•Effort benchmarking – maintain and apply estimation
benchmarks and past-project actuals to keep estimates defensible and
commercially sound.
•Technology & module fitment – recommend the right
SAP product line (B1 vs. S/4HANA Public/Private Cloud vs. On-Premise) based on
client size, complexity, and budget.
3. Delivery
& Program Management
•End-to-end project ownership – manage SAP
implementation, rollout, and upgrade/conversion projects from kick-off through
go-live and hypercare.
•AMS
governance – oversee support
engagements against SLAs, ticket volumes, and continuous improvement targets.
•Stakeholder
management – act as the primary point
of contact for client sponsors and steering committees; manage scope, risk,
budget, and timeline.
•Cross-functional
team leadership – lead functional
consultants, technical/ABAP resources, Basis, and integration teams across
onshore/offshore models.
•Quality and governance – enforce project methodology
(Activate/Agile/Waterfall as applicable), documentation standards, and change
control.
4. Practice
Building
•Mentoring
& cross-skilling – coach
mid-level consultants on solution design, client communication, and estimation
discipline.
•Reusable
assets – contribute to accelerators,
solution templates, demo scripts, and playbooks the wider practice can reuse.
•AI enablement – support the practice's SAP AI
vision by identifying opportunities to bring AI-assisted testing,
documentation, or estimation tools into live projects.
•Resourcing
input – flag skill gaps and hiring
needs to the practice and resourcing teams based on pipeline and delivery
experience.
Overall
experience: 10 to 15 years in SAP consulting, with a mix of implementation and
AMS engagements, including at least 5 years in a solution architect capacity.
SAP Platforms
(hands-on or architecture-level exposure to most of the below)
•SAP Business One (B1)
– SME-segment implementations and
support
•SAP ECC – core implementations, rollouts, and long-term AMS
•SAP S/4HANA On-Premise – greenfield and brownfield implementations,
ECC-to-S/4 conversions
•SAP S/4HANA Private
Cloud – RISE with SAP engagements,
managed-cloud delivery models
•SAP S/4HANA Public
Cloud – fit-to-standard workshops,
best-practice-led rollouts
Functional /
Technical Depth
A
strong background in one or more of the following, with working knowledge
across the rest is expected:
•Functional: Finance & Controlling (FICO), Sales &
Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), Quality
Management (QM), Plant Maintenance (PM), Human Capital Management (HCM)
•Technical: ABAP, Basis, SAP BTP, integration technologies (PI/PO,
CPI), Fiori/UI5, data migration tools (LTMC/LSMW/Migration Cockpit)
•Project types: greenfield implementations, brownfield/system
conversions, rollouts, upgrades, and steady-state AMS/support
•Strong client-facing
communication and executive presence; able to run steering committee
conversations independently.
•Sharp commercial sense –
comfortable discussing scope, effort, and pricing trade-offs with clients and
internal leadership.
•Structured
problem-solving; able to break down ambiguous requirements into a clear
solution and delivery plan.
•People leadership – experience managing teams of 10–40+ consultants
across onshore/offshore locations.
•Familiarity with project
delivery frameworks (SAP Activate, Agile/Scrum, Waterfall) and PMO disciplines
(RAID logs, status reporting, change control).
•Openness to AI-assisted
delivery tools – testing automation, documentation generation, estimation
support – as part of modernizing project execution.
•SAP certification in one
or more modules (FICO, SD, MM, S/4HANA, or equivalent).
•PMP, PRINCE2, or SAP
Activate Project Manager certification.
•Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, or a related field; MBA is
an added advantage.
Base
location: Chennai. The role may require travel to client locations within India
(and occasionally overseas) for workshops, go-lives, and steering committee
meetings, depending on project needs.
•Work across the full SAP
product spectrum – B1, ECC, and every S/4HANA deployment model – rather than a
single narrow track.
•Direct exposure to
presales and deal-shaping, not just execution, for those who want to grow into
practice leadership.
•A practice actively
investing in AI-driven accelerators, prompt libraries, and reusable assets – a
chance to help build these, not just use them.
•A flat, access-driven culture where senior consultants engage directly
with practice and business leadership.
