SDE - 1 (Backend)

We are looking for a highly motivated Software Development Engineer I (Backend) to join a fast-paced engineering team building scalable, high-performance products used by millions of users. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex backend systems, distributed architectures, APIs, and cloud-native applications while collaborating with some of the brightest engineers in the industry. As an SDE-I, you will contribute to the design, development, optimization, and deployment of backend services that power critical business functions. You will be expected to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while continuously learning and adopting modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously learn and implement new technologies to improve platform capabilities.

Core Backend Development:

• 1+ years of hands-on experience in backend software development.
• Strong programming skills in Java.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Good understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Database and Storage:

• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of database design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Familiarity with ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA.

Software Engineering Fundamentals:

• Understanding of design patterns and software development best practices.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with Redis or caching mechanisms.
• Familiarity with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Exposure to Docker and containerized deployments.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Understanding of monitoring and observability tools.
