About the role
We are looking for a Backend SDE 3 who will design, build, and scale highly reliable distributed systems. This role requires strong system design skills, an ownership mindset, and experience working in high-traffic, mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable backend services using microservices architecture.
- Build secure, high-performance APIs handling large transaction volumes.
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Optimise systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams.
- Write clean, maintainable, and production-grade code.
- Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years of backend development experience.
- Strong expertise in Java / Spring Boot (or equivalent backend stack).
- Experience building distributed systems and microservices.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and messaging systems (Kafka / RabbitMQ).
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure).
- Solid understanding of system design, caching, scalability and performance tuning.
- Experience in fintech / high-transaction systems is a plus.
