About the role
We're looking for a Full-stack Engineer who wants to own features from the first product discussion through deployment and monitoring. You'll work with product managers and designers to turn ideas into software that learners use. On a typical feature, you might design a REST API in Django, build the React interface that uses it, and check how it performs after release on Azure. You'll be using SOTA AI coding agents in your development workflow and help build features that use AI agents to carry out tasks in the product.
Responsibilities:
- Own features end to end. Work with product and design to clarify the problem, make technical decisions, ship the feature, and follow up after release.
- Build backend services and APIs. Use Python, Django, and Django REST Framework to build reliable services. Design relational data models and investigate slow queries as usage grows.
- Build responsive interfaces. Use React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to create fast, usable experiences.
- Deploy and operate applications on Azure. Work with CI/CD pipelines, monitor application health, investigate production issues, and prioritize fixes by their impact on users.
- Keep the codebase easy to change. Write unit tests, review pull requests, and explain technical trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical teammates.
- Use AI coding agents in real development workflows. Work with tools such as Claude Code or Codex to explore code, implement changes, and debug issues. Review and test their output, and help build agent-powered features where they solve a user problem.
Requirements:
- 1-4 years of software development experience, with a concrete example of a feature or product you helped take from concept to production.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework, including designing and building REST APIs.
- Solid experience with React, modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- A working understanding of relational databases and query optimization, plus experience with Git, unit testing, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents for substantive development tasks. You can explain what you delegated, what you changed yourself, and how you verified the result.
- The ability to break down ambiguous problems, learn unfamiliar tools, and communicate decisions clearly across engineering, product, and design.
