About the role
As an SDE 1, you will build and run the Python backend services and platform infrastructure behind our AI products. You will ship features end-to-end, keep systems reliable and easy to deploy, and grow through mentorship and real ownership.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs in Python.
- Write clean, tested code and take part in code reviews.
- Design data models and queries on SQL databases using ORMs.
- Build CI/CD pipelines and containerise services with Docker for cloud deployment.
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code, automation and internal developer tooling.
- Add logging, monitoring and alerting; help debug production issues.
- Work with Product, Design and front-end engineers to deliver features.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in software development with strong Python skills.
- Experience building APIs with FastAPI, Flask or Django.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL) and an ORM.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Docker and the Linux command line.
- Familiarity with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins) and a cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Good to have:
- Kubernetes, Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Supabase, Redis, Celery or message queues.
- Basic JavaScript / TypeScript and ReactJS; interest in AI / LLM applications.
