About the role
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure OLTP databases remain stable, secure, and high-performing
- Proactively investigate and resolve database performance issues
- Maintain backup policies and routine administrative tasks such as indexing and statistics updates
- Identify high-consumption queries and work with users to improve efficiency
- Manage database access controls and ensure security compliance with IT policies
- Build dashboards to identify performance gaps and support incident triage workflows
- Collaborate end-to-end with stakeholders to deliver required data outcomes
- Develop Python scripts to process and prepare data for consumption
- Lead migrations and upgrades of production-critical MySQL databases and Percona Clusters
- Plan and execute controlled upgrades with rollback and rollout strategies
- Perform version migrations with detailed risk assessment
- Manage partitioning and storage strategies aligned with log shipping use cases.
- Create and manage clustering and de-clustering for MySQL and MS SQL environments
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
- Proven expertise in database performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis
- Experience setting up and managing backups, restores, and replication
- Solid understanding of database security, roles, and permissions
- Hands-on experience with high-availability database systems
- Experience with production database migrations and upgrades is mandatory
