Job description:

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BE / B. Tech)
• 5+ years’ experience in Automation, Tooling & Fixture Design, SPM, or Material Handling Equipment.

JD details:

To execute engineering design projects in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), customer requirements, and organizational standards. The role involves leading design activities, mentoring team members, ensuring quality deliverables, and supporting successful project execution within agreed timelines while adhering to company processes, guidelines, and quality standards.

·      Review and validate project inputs, customer specifications, and technical requirements before design execution.

·      Participate in customer kick-off meetings to finalize scope, deliverables, timelines, and identify project risks.

·      Develop concepts and detailed designs for automation systems, fixtures, SPMs, material handling equipment, and industrial tooling.

·      Prepare manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation in accordance with engineering standards.

·      Apply GD&T, material specifications, and manufacturing requirements to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.

·      Design tooling solutions for bolt tightening, riveting, robotic dispensing, and fixture/handling applications.

·      Conduct design reviews, resolve technical issues, and support manufacturing and assembly teams during project execution.

·      Ensure compliance with company and customer-specific standards while delivering quality outputs within committed timelines.

2. Technical Knowledge & Skills:

       I.           Mandatory Experience:

Minimum 5 years of design experience in: Automation systems, Fixtures, and tooling, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Material handling equipment

     II.           Technical Competencies

·      Strong knowledge of machine design principles.

·      Sound understanding of GD&T and engineering standards.

·      Proficiency in engineering design calculations and component sizing.

·      Hands-on experience in machine conceptualization and detailed design.

·      Experience in the design of: Tightening solutions, Fixtures, SPMs, Sheet metal structures, Welded structures, Material handling equipment, Pneumatic systems, Packaging machines, Checking fixtures

·      Knowledge of Gantries, Manual and powered slides, Lift mechanisms, Motor and gearbox selection, Linear motion systems

   III.           Added Advantage

• Pneumatic system design.
• CAE analysis knowledge.
• Controls and automation knowledge.
• Exposure to global customer interactions

3. Must have Software Skills:

·      Solid works

·      Solid edge

·      Windchill PDM would be added advantage

·      AutoCAD and basic CAE tools
