Senior Manager – Toolroom

To lead Toolroom R&D operations, ensuring effective mould trials, sampling and approvals, mould maintenance and assembly, new product development support, quality, safety, timely job completion, and efficient coordination with internal stakeholders.

• Oversee day-to-day Toolroom operations and ensure smooth, efficient shopfloor functioning.
• Review new mould trials, sampling and approval activities before production release.
• Manage mould maintenance, mould assembly, repair activities and new product development support.
• Support Sales and Marketing in addressing customer-related technical requirements and support needs.
• Review mould repair requests, maintenance history, incoming mould checklists and approved mould lists.
• Lead and guide Assistant Managers and junior team members; provide training and on-the-job guidance.
• Ensure jobs are completed within agreed timelines and that shift handovers are documented clearly.
• Communicate job status, constraints and key updates to the HOD and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and maintain a positive, collaborative team environment.
• Coordinate leave and shift-related communication with the relevant in-charges.
• Monitor job accuracy and product quality; identify defects and ensure timely corrective action.
• Promote 5S, continuous improvement and compliance with applicable quality requirements.
• Verify product process parameters and relevant mould maintenance checklists and records.
• Coordinate equipment upkeep and preventive maintenance with the Maintenance team.
• Report machine issues and breakdowns promptly and support troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Ensure team members follow safe working practices and applicable regulatory and site requirements.
• Verify CNC/VMC job sheets and preventive maintenance records.
• Ensure drawings and specifications are prepared and controlled for products and mould development.
• Maintain and verify mould repair and maintenance records, approved mould/container/cap lists, and relevant checklists.
• Prepare and track Returnable Gate Pass (RGP) records; review the RGP tracker weekly to ensure timely returns and follow-up.
• Review daily work on conventional machines, place orders for Toolroom requirements and mould raw materials, and maintain/verify 5S documentation.
• Maintain accurate records and inventory levels in line with requisitions and coordinate discrepancies with the responsible in-charges.
