About the role
Position Summary:
The Transformation & Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead is the techno-functional, Lean Six Sigma transformation partner for assigned HCA Hyderabad GCN functions, owning the agenda from opportunity identification and maturity assessment through prioritization, delivery, adoption, and Finance-confirmed benefits.
The CI lead works across teams to improve visibility, standardize processes, document procedures, and enable process excellence & transformation. This role requires analytical strength, attention to detail, structured problem solving, and clear stakeholder communication across geographies and levels of the organization.
The role combines Lean Six Sigma, process, financial, project-management, and technology fluency to select the least-complex effective solution and work with the GCN Automation team, ACOE, DT&I, AI enablement teams, enterprise IT / ERP teams, Finance, and US stakeholders. This is not a coding or status-tracking role; success is measured through maturity assessment, opportunity identification, pipeline health, faster idea-to-value, process-maturity movement, meeting functional transformational goals and benefits that hold up in the financial books.
Responsibilities:
Function Partnership, CI Culture & Opportunity Pipeline
·Act as the transformation partner for assigned functions and drive adoption of the Hyderabad transformation / CI framework, visual management, and regular CI operating cadences.
·Run idea-generation sessions, Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and structured problem-solving workshops to surface quick wins and larger productivity opportunities.
·Own the opportunity pipeline from intake through triage and delivery; maintain pipeline health and actively mine high-value opportunities that support the GCN productivity roadmap.
Maturity Assessment, Roadmap & Prioritization
·Map current-state processes using volumes, cycle times, error / rework rates, automation coverage, controls, and systems, and assess maturity using the center framework.
·Build function maturity heat maps and identify process-fix, AI / Non-AI automation, ERP-migration, analytics, and AI opportunities.
·Translate findings into a multi-quarter transformation roadmap with productivity and throughput targets, sequenced against function priorities and ERP dependencies.
·Score and prioritize opportunities using value, ease, risk, strategic fit, and implementation complexity.
Solutioning, Feasibility & Execution
·Triage each opportunity to the right solution type - process improvement, Power Platform / RPA / macro automation, analytics, or approved AI - preferring the least-complex option that solves the problem.
·Develop problem statements, business cases, functional requirements, benefit hypotheses, and acceptance criteria; partner with the Lead Automation Developer and enterprise teams on feasibility and effort estimates.
·Lead Lean Six Sigma / DMAIC and cross-functional improvement projects end to end, including project planning, risk management, UAT, deployment, change management, and adoption.
·Work with development teams through solution design, testing, deployment, and hypercare to ensure the implemented solution resolves the underlying business problem.
Governance, Value Realization & Portfolio Management
·Run stage tollgates for the assigned portfolio, prepare content for portfolio reviews / steering forums, and escalate risks, dependencies, or slippage early with a clear action required.
·Agree baselines and benefit logic with Finance before work starts; maintain the benefits register and confirm realized benefits after go-live in line with HCA governance.
·Maintain a single version of the truth for pipeline, delivery status, process maturity, and benefits that can be shared consistently with Hyderabad and US leadership.
Capability Building & Standardization
·Identify, coach, and develop Yellow / Green Belts and CI champions so improvement capability is embedded within the functions.
·Contribute to center playbooks, templates, standard work, and the CI community of practice; reinforce disciplined documentation and sustained-control plans.
Education & Experience:
·Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
·12 to 16 years of professional experience, with at least 5 to 8 years in process excellence, operational transformation, continuous improvement, GBS / GCC / shared services, team management or management consulting.
·Demonstrated track record of delivering improvement initiatives with quantified, Finance-validated productivity, throughput, working-capital, quality, or cost benefits.
·Experience working across multiple stakeholders and senior leaders in India and the US, including cross-time-zone delivery environments.
Must Have Skills
·Lean Six Sigma with strong practical application of DMAIC, root-cause analysis, control planning, and sustained improvement.
·Strong process depth in at least one major operations domain such as F&A (O2C, P2P, R2R), Clinical data, revenue cycle, procurement / supply chain, workforce management, HR operations, or IT operations.
·Ability to conduct process and maturity assessments, quantify baselines, develop business cases, and translate findings into prioritized transformation roadmaps.
·Working knowledge of RPA, Power Platform, analytics, and AI / GenAI sufficient to scope, triage, and challenge solutions; coding is not required.
·Proficiency with process mapping tools (Visio, Signavio, or similar), Excel, and PowerPoint; comfortable reading and creating basic Power BI views.
·Strong project-management, change-management, stakeholder-influencing, and executive-communication skills, including the ability to drive outcomes without direct authority.
·Financial and commercial acumen with disciplined benefit tracking and the ability to connect operational changes to measurable financial or capacity impact.
Nice to Have Skills
·US healthcare experience across provider, payer, revenue cycle, or healthcare procurement environments, with awareness of HIPAA and SOX control expectations.
·ERP transformation experience, ideally SAP S/4HANA, and experience sequencing CI / automation work around major system migrations.
·Experience with process mining tools such as Celonis or equivalent.
·Experience helping establish a transformation office, CI center of excellence, or similar capability from the ground up.
Licenses, Certifications & Training:
·Lean Six Sigma required; Green Belt & Black Belt strongly preferred.
·PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Prosci, or equivalent change / project-management certification is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors:
·Uses structured, data-led problem solving to get to root cause rather than relying on opinion or activity-based fixes.
·Demonstrates ownership for outcomes, moves quickly on visible wins, and maintains discipline on benefits, controls, and sustained adoption.
·Builds trust with function leaders, Finance, technical teams, and US stakeholders; influences effectively without formal authority.
·Balances strategic roadmap thinking with hands-on project execution, detail orientation, and strong follow-through across multiple priorities.
·Coaches others and builds CI capability in the business rather than centralizing all improvement work in the transformation team.
·Handles confidential and sensitive information appropriately and upholds HCA ethical, compliance, and documentation expectations.
