About the role
- Packaging Developments & Improvements
- Design and develop domestic and export-worthy packaging solutions tailored for Engines, Gensets, Pump Sets and Spare Parts.
- Lead end-to-end packaging development for proto codes during new product development phases.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects to optimize packaging material usage, minimize shipping dimensions and lower freight costs.
- Analyze transit damage data, gather customer feedback and implement corrective actions to improve packaging
- Explore alternative, eco-friendly or reusable packaging materials while maintaining structural protection.
- Partner with Cross-Functional Teams (CFT)—including Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Sourcing—for packaging trials and sign-offs.
- Conduct physical fitment, loading, and transit trials; document findings via Packaging Trial Reports (PTR) and Minutes of Meetings (MOM).
- PLM System Knowledge – Packaging Part No creation, drawing updation, packing group creation in system & packaging group updation in respective application code BOM
- Follow and enforce IMS rules, guidelines, and procedures; ensure visible display of protocols in relevant operational areas.
- Implement, monitor and maintain compliance with IMS legal, environmental, and industry-specific requirements.
- Prepare and maintain precise packaging records, engineering change requests (ECN), trial logs and compliance documentation per IMS audit requirements.
- Adhere strictly to Operational Control Procedures (OCP), use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ensure team-wide compliance during trials and floor work.
- Identify internal and external operational issues affecting packaging performance, supply chain, and transit safety.
