About the role
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Business Analyst Lead with strong Agile/Scrum/Project Management skills to join our Investment Banking IT team, focused on the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business analysis and documenting requirements, managing projects, and ensuring smooth execution of initiatives within the BFSI vertical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis:
Lead business analysis efforts to understand client needs, define business requirements, and translate them into actionable recommendations within the BFSI sector.
Write user stories and confirm the understanding with the developers.
Write function specifications and ensure proper documentation of requirements, process mapping and workflow diagramming
Document business rules, feasibility studies, and impact analysis
Perform system analysis with the BA of other applications squads when involved in multisystems features and interfaces.
Coordinate with multiple Technical teams, Infrastructure and testing teams to deliver the projects
Assist to prepare technical deliveries and support implementation by integration teams.
Work with developers on system development and unit testing.
Work with the testing team to conduct system integration testing to ensure quality of delivery.
Support UAT (reproduce issues, monitoring, fixing with the team).
- Project Management (Agile/Scrum) & Process Improvement:
- Manage and oversee multiple projects using Agile methodologies, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
- Act as a Scrum Master, facilitating daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to keep the team aligned and projects on track.
- Ensure projects are executed according to agreed timelines, budgets, and business requirements.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of project goals.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, client teams, and senior management to ensure clear communication of business requirements and expectations.
- Provide regular updates on project status, issues, and risks, ensuring that stakeholders are aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the development of client relationships by ensuring business requirements are met and provide insights on how BFSI clients can maximize the value of their investments.
- Leadership & Mentorship:
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of business analysts, fostering a collaborative and highperformance culture within the BFSI investment banking team.
- Ensure ongoing professional development of team members, helping them to enhance their business analysis, data analysis, and communication skills.
- Act as a role model for junior analysts by demonstrating a strategic, client focused approach to business analysis and problem solving.
- Reporting & Financial Metrics:
- Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of performance dashboards to track key business and project metrics for senior leadership.
- Define, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across business operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Use data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to create intuitive dashboards that provide actionable insights into business performance.
- Regularly track, analyze, and report on business performance metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to drive operational improvements.
- Provide clear, datadriven recommendations to optimize processes, enhance client delivery, and support strategic decisionmaking.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 810 years of experience in business analysis, with a strong background in investment banking or financial services, preferably in the BFSI sector.
- Experience in process optimization, project management, and leading teams in a fastpaced, dynamic environment.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong skills in business analysis, including requirements gathering, process analysis, and creating actionable insights.
- Proven experience with Agile project management (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage relationships with both internal teams and clients.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
