About the role
Responsibilities:
- Platform Vision and Strategy: Own the product vision for the future of Keka's platform. Develop a long-term roadmap that aligns architectural investments with our company's strategic goals for enterprise and ecosystem growth.
- Business Case Development: Lead the discovery and analysis to determine the ROI of strategic platform initiatives. Build data-driven cases to justify when and why we should invest in decoupling capabilities into modular, API-first services
- Core Services Product Management: Where strategically necessary, lead the 0-to-1 product development for new, independent platform services (e. g., for Permissions, Identity, or Communications).
- API Governance and Developer Experience: Champion a world-class, API-first culture. Establish the design standards and developer experience that will enable both internal teams and external partners to build on our platform
- Phased Execution: For approved initiatives, develop pragmatic, phased roadmaps that deliver incremental value and evolve our architecture without disrupting our existing business.
- Executive Influence: Act as the primary bridge between engineering, product, and business leadership, translating complex technical trade-offs into clear business implications and strategic recommendations.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 4+ years in a deeply technical, backend-focused platform or architectural role.
- Proven success in leading strategic platform initiatives.
- You have experience building business cases for significant technical investments (e. g., build vs. buy, platform migrations, or launching major new services) and seeing them through to execution.
- Expert-level understanding of API design, distributed systems, and the trade-offs of different architectural patterns (e. g., microservices, event-driven)
- Exceptional business acumen. You are as comfortable building a financial model for ROI as you are debating an API design with a principal engineer.
- A master of influence and stakeholder management, with the ability to create alignment from the engineering team to the C-suite.
