Job Summary

We are looking for a Principal Architect to own end-to-end technical architecture for large, cloud-native backend platforms — from design through delivery to production operation. This is a senior individual-contributor role, you are the final technical authority on architecture decisions across multiple delivery streams, the senior escalation point for hard technical problems, and the person translating business program goals into a coherent technical roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Platform architecture Design end-to-end system architecture for high-scale, cloud-native platforms - data ingestion processing pipelines, service API design, and multi-format output or delivery layers.
• Contract and registry design Define versioned schemas and service contracts that let independent teams build and ship against a shared platform without breaking each other.
• Architecture governance: Own HLD LLD, ADRs, and architecture reviews across all delivery streams make and defend build-vs-alternative decisions on core technical choices (execution engines, storage, orchestration).
• Scale and reliability engineering Set capacity, throughput, and latency targets design for horizontal scale, fault isolation, and recoverability.
• Program-level technical leadership Act as the single point of architectural accountability across multiple concurrent workstreams carry the technical narrative through program gates to leadership.
• Mentorship Coach engineers and other architects on cloud-native and platform-engineering patterns.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong experience in Project Management and Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience managing Java, dot NET, Cloud, Web, or Enterprise Application projects.
• Expertise in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in risk management, budgeting, and project reporting.
• Experience in release management, deployment automation, and environment management.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
• Experience with microservices architecture and API management.

Technical Expertise

• Strong hands on experience in Java , including object oriented design, multithreading, and performance optimization.
• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot framework for building scalable microservices, including Spring Data, Spring Security, and REST APIs.
• Expertise in designing and building microservices-based architectures, including API gateways, service registries, and distributed communication patterns.
• Proficient in Angular for building modular, responsive, and high-performing front end applications.
• Experience with RESTful API design, API versioning, and best practices for integration between front end and back end systems.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, including Oracle, SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master (CSM,PSM), or SAFe certification.
• ITIL Foundation certification or knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM).
• AWS Azure Cloud Certifications
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of DevOps, CI CD pipelines, and modern application architecture.
• Experience in managing distributed, global teams.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 15 plus years in software platform architecture roles, with demonstrable ownership (not just contribution) of large-scale cloud-native systems.
• Hands-on cloud architecture experience — compute, storage, and queue container-based horizontal scaling — on a major cloud platform.
• Large-scale batch or distributed data-processing experience partitioning, shared broadcast reference data, rule- or record-level processing at high volume.
• Schema- or contract-driven platform design experience, where independent teams publish consume versioned contracts through a shared registry.
• Track record personally authoring and defending HLD LLD or architecture decision records to leadership.
• Experience owning a phase program gate on a multi-stream program (3 plus concurrent streams, 30 plus engineers).
• Billing or bill-presentment domain exposure, Amdocs Billing Domain is a must.
• Legacy-to-cloud migration or platform replacement experience.
• Document template rendering pipeline experience - architecting a templating engine feeding a production print or PDF pipeline.
• Telecom or regulated-industry domain experience, including TM Forum Open API exposure.
• Multi-cloud breadth (beyond the primary cloud platform).

Domain Skill:

• Strong background in Telecom and Mobile Applications
  Knowledge of telecom service operations and billing systems
