Senior Sample Manager Consultant

The Senior Sample Manager Consultant is a subject matter expert responsible for designing, configuring, and optimising sample lifecycle management processes within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). The role ensures robust sample tracking, chain-of-custody integrity, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration across laboratory operations. This role supports large-scale laboratory transformation programs, ensuring alignment with international quality standards (ISO 17025, ISO 9001, GxP where applicable) and enabling efficient, audit-ready sample workflows.

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Sample Lifecycle Design and Configuration:

• Define and implement end-to-end sample lifecycle workflows, including: Sample registration and receiving, sample categorisation and labelling, Barcode sample movement, Storage, retrieval, and disposal, and configuring entity templates, metadata structures, and workflows in LIMS platforms (Sample Manager).

Chain of Custody and Traceability:

• Design and enforce robust chain-of-custody mechanisms.
• Ensure full traceability of samples across lifecycle stages.
• Implement barcode/RFID-based tracking mechanisms.
• Support audit readiness and regulatory inspections.

Requirements:

• 8-12+ years of experience in multiple LIMS implementations.
• Minimum 5+ years specifically in SampleManager LIMS Development or Support.
• Proven experience in large-scale LIMS implementations (multi-lab / regulator-level preferred).

Domain Expertise:

• Deep understanding of: Sample lifecycle processes, Laboratory operations and workflows, Chain of custody and traceability principles.
• Familiarity with: Environmental, chemical, or oil and gas lab operations, Multi-site lab environments / regulatory labs.

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with LIMS platforms: Thermo SampleManager LIMS.
• Experience in: Workflow Creation/configuration, Sample lifecycle Customizations, Instrument Integration, C# and VGL Customizations, REST API/Web Interfaces configurations, form design, Report Designer, SQL Knowledge, Data migration and validation, LIMS Installation/Configuration with AWS/Azure platforms.
