About the role
Responsibilities:
- Lead backend development across product teams, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Architect and maintain robust database structures and backend services that support growing workloads and business use cases.
- Make key technology and architectural decisions to drive code health, modularity, and long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions that solve real customer problems.
- Define and enforce coding standards, system design best practices, and high engineering bar across teams.
- Drive technical roadmap discussions and own major initiatives, including new product architecture, refactors, and performance upgrades.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and regular feedback.
- Lead incident reviews, tech debt triaging, and retrospectives for continuous technical improvement.
Requirements:
- 1+ years in a technical leadership role with 5+ years of experience in scaling enterprise SaaS platforms.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building AI-first products.
- 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience (e. g., Ruby, Node.js, Python, or Java)
- 5+ years of system design, API development, and performance optimisation.
- 1+ years of experience in managing a team of 5+ engineers and driving hiring initiatives.
- Strong experience with Postgres, MongoDB, and designing for high-traffic systems.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, designing, and Architecting.
- Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure for scalable cloud architecture.
- Hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- A solution-first mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a drive to push technical boundaries.
