About the role
We are looking for an experienced Sybase Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Sybase ASE administration, database performance tuning, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, and production support.
Responsibilities:
- Administer Sybase ASE databases in production environments.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
- Manage backup and recovery processes.
- Install, configure, and maintain database systems.
- Troubleshoot production database issues and provide support.
- Monitor database health and perform regular health checks.
- Manage database security, including users, roles, and permissions.
- Use Unix/Linux and scripting for automation where needed.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in Sybase Database Administration (DBA).
- Hands-on experience with Sybase ASE administration.
- Experience in database performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery.
- Knowledge of database installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for production database issues.
- Experience with database monitoring and health checks.
- Knowledge of database security, users, roles, and permissions.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux and scripting for automation.
- Minimum 7.5+ years of relevant experience required.
- Strong hands-on Sybase DBA experience is mandatory.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
