About the role
We are looking for a Senior Sybase and Python Developer with strong hands-on experience in Sybase ASE, T-SQL, Unix and Python-based ETL/data solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise Sybase queries and stored procedures.
- Build Python-based ETL/data processing solutions.
- Work on Unix-based data and file operations.
- Analyse and resolve technical issues across applications and databases.
- Translate business requirements into technical implementation steps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support technical decisions.
- Follow Agile SDLC practices and contribute as a technical SME.
Requirements:
- 5 plus years of experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Sybase ASE / T-SQL.
- Complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Unix/Linux - file operations, permissions, environment and data handling.
- Python for data processing / ETL.
- Shell scripting.
- Autosys / job scheduling.
- Experience with data cleansing, ingestion, loading and reporting.
- Sybase performance tuning, database optimisation, backup/recovery, and application integration experience.
