About the role
We are looking for a highly skilled Networking Software Engineer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in routing protocol development and carrier-grade networking platforms. This role involves designing and developing control-plane features for router/switch products, working on scalable implementations of protocols such as BGP, MPLS, EVPN, and Segment Routing (SR-MPLS/SRv6) in a Linux-based network operating system using C.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable routing features for carrier-grade network OS.
- Implement and enhance control-plane protocols (BGP, MPLS, EVPN, SR).
- Work on traffic engineering features (PCEP, LSP, protection mechanisms).
- Debug and resolve complex production issues in the routing stack.
- Perform code reviews, architecture discussions, and design validation.
- Collaborate with global teams across development, QA, and system integration.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence.
Requirements:
- Experience: 14 to 20 Years.
- Strong hands-on experience in C programming on Linux systems.
- Proven experience in networking protocol development (control-plane).
- Experience working on router/switch products (not enterprise network operations).
- Deep understanding and implementation experience in BGP, OSPF / IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing (SR-MPLS / SRv6), EVPN (VPLS, IRB, etc. ).
Good to Have:
- Experience with Linux networking stack / kernel interactions.
- Knowledge of DPDK / high-performance packet processing.
- Experience in YANG modeling / Netconf / CLI frameworks.
