About the role
We are looking to add a talented Snowflake Cloud Engineer to our team. This is a hands-on role, responsible for driving the design and implementation of data pipelines for our clients.
About you:
- Ability to Apply Snowflake best practices to Snowflake Data Warehouse (nice to have)
- Developing complex data models, monitoring, maintaining and tuning in Snowflake (nice to have)
- Experience in the implementation, execution, and maintenance of Data Integration technology solutions
- Experience advancing and supporting information management practices within business processes, applications and technology that underpin the data discipline (e.g. establishing data quality processes, performing data analysis, participating in technology implementation planning, implementing data integration processes,)
- Experience with enterprise cloud economics
- Understanding of enterprise data management concepts (Data Governance, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Sharing, Data Applications)
- Hands-on expertise with SQL and SQL analytics
- Experience designing and implementing a fully operational production grade large scale data solution on Snowflake Data Warehouse.
- Understanding data pipelines and modern ways of automating data pipeline using cloud based Testing and clearly document implementations, so others can easily understand the requirements, implementation, and test conditions.
- 3 years of hands on experience with building productionized data ingestion and processing pipelines using Java, Spark, Scala, Python
- Developing ETL pipelines in and out of data warehouse using combination of Python and Snowflakes SnowSQL Writing SQL queries against Snowflake. Developing scripts Unix, Python etc. to do Extract, Load and Transform data Working knowledge of AWS Redshift
- Translate requirements for BI and Reporting to Database design and reporting design Understanding data transformation and translation requirements and which tools to leverage to get the job done
- 2 years of hands on experience designing and implementing production grade data warehousing solutions on large scale data technologies such as Teradata, Oracle or DB2 Expertise and excellent understanding of Snowflake Internals and integration of Snowflake with other data processing and reporting technologies
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to problem solve and architect in an environment with unclear requirements .
- Experience in working with AWS, Azure and Google data services Prior experience in client facing projects.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
- Strong aptitude for modern BI solution development using Azure solution suite
- Ability to design and implement effective analytics solutions and models with Snowflake
- Strong background in data warehousing concepts, ETL development, data modeling, metadata management and data quality
- Knowledge of relational and multidimensional data design and development techniques including star schema, snowflake schema, cube design, ETL and others
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and organizational skills
- 2 years of hands on experience designing and implementing production grade data warehousing solutions on large scale data technologies such as Teradata, Oracle or DB2 Expertise and excellent understanding of Snowflake Internals and integration of Snowflake with other data processing and reporting technologies
