About the role
Overview
Client's Enterprise AI Agents Engineering team is building AI-powered automation for enterprise operations. We need a backend engineer to design and develop high-performance services and APIs on GCP. Go is our primary language, Python secondary. Production engineering, not prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in Go
- Build microservices that power AI agent orchestration and execution
- Develop integrations with internal and third-party APIs (including LLM providers)
- Write Python services for tooling, data pipelines, and automation
- Deploy containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes on GCP
- Design data models and work with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and deployment strategies
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning
Skills
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2-5 years of professional backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) with production services shipped
- Solid Python skills for scripting and automation
- Experience building RESTful and/or gRPC APIs
- Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience
- Working knowledge of GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL)
- SQL database experience and basic data modeling
- Understanding of concurrency patterns and writing testable code
Nice to Have
- Experience with Rust
- Message queues and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka, NATS)
- Exposure to LLM APIs and AI agent frameworks
- Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Enterprise software or high-throughput systems background
Education
2-5 years of professional backend development experience
