About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Network Engineer with an exceptional understanding of networking technology to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team at D. E. Shaw India, based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram. This is a hands-on technical role within a cross-functional team that is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a secure network infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to be part of an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging team and organization.
What we're looking for- The ideal candidate should hold– Basic qualifications: ─ A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science and engineering or a related technical discipline, with at least 3 years of experience in the network domain ─ A good understanding of networking fundamentals, including the TCP/IP stack, switching, and routing ─ Familiarity with common enterprise and data center networking devices and management tools ─ Previous experience in the design and end-to-end implementation of performant, reliable, and secure network systems ─ Excellent troubleshooting capabilities and experience with diagnostic tools on Linux and network devices ─ Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills ─ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Preferred qualifications: ─ Familiarity with scripting in Python or any other programming language to support and enhance automation
