About the role
Overview WELCOME TO SITA SITA is the leading specialist in air transport communications and information technology. We don’t just connect the global aviation industry, we apply decades of experience and expertise to address almost every core business, operational, baggage, and passenger process in air transport. As an organization, we cover 95% of all international air travel destinations and work with over 2,800 air transport and government customers in every corner of the globe. Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of technology while embracing our collaborative, and inclusive culture. Ready to redefine air travel? The journey starts here, with you at SITA. ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM: As an Airport Master Systems Integration (MSI) Business Lead, you will bring deep airport operating knowledge to complex airport development and transformation programmes. You will translate the airport operator’s business model, operational concept and stakeholder needs into an integrated programme that aligns people, processes, facilities and technology from early planning through operational readiness and go-live. This is primarily an airport business and programme integration role, not a product engineering role. You will act as a trusted adviser to airport executives and operational leaders, ensuring that the MSI approach protects airport operations, enables the target operating model and delivers measurable operational outcomes. Reporting to Head of Airport Solutions, you will work across customer, programme, design, construction, operational readiness and technology teams. At SITA, we achieve more, together. Are you ready to join us? What you will do Own the airport business perspective within MSI pursuits and programmes, ensuring that programme decisions are driven by airport strategy, operating model, passenger experience, capacity, resilience, safety, security and commercial objectives. Engage airport executives and senior stakeholders across Operations, Terminal Management, IT, Security, Baggage, Commercial, Finance, Engineering, Facilities, Airlines, Ground Handlers and government agencies to understand priorities, constraints and success measures. Lead the development and validation of the airport Concept of Operations (ConOps), operational scenarios, business requirements, service concepts and end-to-end airport processes. Translate airport business needs into an MSI scope, governance model, work packages, responsibilities and measurable outcomes, while working with architects and technical specialists on the enabling solutions. Advise customers on MSI strategy, delivery model and programme governance, including the role of the airport operator, programme management consultant, main contractor, specialist contractors, system integrators and operational stakeholders. Identify operational dependencies and integration risks across terminal, airside, landside and airport-wide functions, and ensure that no critical business process falls between contractual or organisational boundaries. Lead business-level integration workshops covering key airport journeys and operational flows, such as passenger processing, baggage, aircraft turnaround, resource allocation, disruption management, security, airport control and stakeholder information sharing. Define business acceptance criteria and operational performance measures, including capacity, throughput, service level, resilience, recovery, passenger experience and operational readiness. Work closely with ORAT teams to align MSI deliverables with operational trials, SOP development, training, transition, cutover, command-and-control arrangements and post-opening stabilization. Provide airport business leadership during system integration testing, end-to-end operational trials and readiness reviews, ensuring that validation is based on realistic airport scenarios rather than isolated system tests. Challenge designs and delivery proposals that are technically compliant but operationally impractical, fragmented, difficult to support or inconsistent with the airport’s target operating model. Support opportunity qualification, customer shaping, proposals and executive presentations by articulating the MSI value proposition, programme outcomes, delivery risks, required capabilities and customer responsibilities. Build trusted relationships with airport operators, authorities, consultants, construction partners, airlines and solution providers, representing SITA as an airport transformation and integration partner. Mentor cross-functional teams on airport business processes and help strengthen SITA’s repeatable MSI methods, reference models, use cases and lessons learned. Qualifications Who you are You are an airport professional first, with a strong understanding of how airports are planned, operated, governed and transformed, combined with credible MSI programme experience. 15+ years of relevant experience in airports, aviation infrastructure, airport operations, airport consulting, ORAT, major capital programmes or airport systems integration. At least 8 years working directly with airport operators, airport authorities, major terminal programmes or airport transformation initiatives; experience across greenfield, terminal expansion and live-airport brownfield environments is highly valued. Demonstrated experience in an MSI, programme integration, airport transformation, ORAT, operational design, airport consultancy or owner’s-representative role. Deep knowledge of airport operating models and end-to-end processes across passenger, baggage, aircraft turnaround, terminal operations, security, resource management, disruption management and airport collaborative decision-making. Ability to connect airport strategy and operational outcomes to programme governance, requirements, design, procurement, integration, testing, commissioning, operational readiness and transition. Experience facilitating senior customer workshops, resolving cross-stakeholder issues and influencing decisions where accountability is distributed across multiple organisations and contracts. Strong understanding of airline, ground-handler, border agency, security, regulator, concessionaire and service-provider interfaces within the airport ecosystem. Commercial and contractual awareness, including scope boundaries, interface obligations, acceptance criteria, risk allocation, change control and supplier accountability. Sufficient understanding of airport IT/OT and specialist systems to lead business integration discussions and challenge assumptions. You are not expected to be the detailed design authority for every technology domain. Excellent communication, executive engagement, facilitation, negotiation and written presentation skills, with the ability to make complex airport programmes understandable and actionable. Comfortable working across cultures, organisations and time zones, and able to remain effective in high-pressure programme and operational environments. Degree or equivalent professional experience in Aviation, Airport Management, Engineering, Operations, Business, Programme Management or a related field. Relevant credentials are advantageous, such as ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP), ACI Airport Operations, IATA airport qualifications, ORAT experience, PMP, PRINCE2, TOGAF (L2) or systems-engineering certification. Experience that would make you stand out Leadership role in the opening, expansion or major transition of an airport terminal. Experience developing an airport ConOps, target operating model, operational requirements or integrated readiness plan. Hands-on participation in ORAT trials, cutover, activation, command centre operations or post-opening stabilisation. Experience working for an airport operator, aviation consultancy, programme management consultant, major contractor or recognised airport MSI. Experience engaging executive stakeholders and boards on programme risk, operational readiness and airport transformation outcomes. Exposure to international airport standards and practices, including ICAO, IATA and ACI guidance, as well as local regulatory and safety requirements. How success will be measured Airport business requirements and operational outcomes are clearly reflected in the MSI scope and programme decisions. End-to-end operational processes have accountable owners, complete interfaces and testable acceptance criteria. Operational risks and gaps are identified early and resolved before they affect readiness, opening or live operations. Airport stakeholders understand and support the integration strategy, governance and decision-making model. Operational trials and transition demonstrate that the airport can operate safely, efficiently and resiliently from day one. SITA is recognised by the customer as a trusted airport business and MSI adviser, not only as a technology supplier. WHAT WE OFFER We're all about diversity.
