About the role
As part of the Front Office IT department the Equity derivatives developer team oversees development and support of tools used by Delta 1 and Security finance traders, sales, and operations.
There is a team composed of 5 developers located in Hong Kong, and we’re creating a second team offshore, where this position would be hosted.
All the developers are interacting daily with the Front and Middle Office.
nMain responsibilities
-Develop or enhance applications for Security Finance and Delta 1
-Support Equity derivatives users on their daily requests and ensure on-duty jobs whenever requested
-Manage users’ requirements and provide in-depth business analysis
-Coach junior team members on technical skills
-Communicate and report to IT peers and FO and MO teams
-Fully autonomous to collect requirements, design solutions and develop applications
-Must be creative and innovative and propose better solutions whenever possible
-Open-minded and curious to help rationalize and maintain the existing systems
-Foresee possible issues to avoid them in early development stages
-Aware and curious about new technologies to share their benefits and explore them
Operational skills:
-Proven years of Core JavaFO development (Java 8+, SpringBoot)
-Proven experience in Agile, and continuous delivery (Jenkins, Sonar)
-Good knowledge of Domain driven design and Cloud Native applications
-Good knowledge of Equity derivatives products (Equity finance, Delta1 and Prime Brokerage preferred)
-Skilled in developing modern web applications using JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular)
-Knowledge of Python and analytics libraries is a strong advantage
-Knowledge of VBA is a strong advantage
-Technical background in Linux is preferable
-Knowledge of Docker and public cloud is a plus
