Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Warehouse Support Engineer with expertise in Snowflake to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our data warehouse infrastructure, specifically focused on Snowflake. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the performance, availability, and security of the Snowflake data warehouse environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to data loading, transformation, and extraction processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement performance optimization strategies
- Develop and maintain documentation for data warehouse processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Perform regular data backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Snowflake features, enhancements, and best practices
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and stakeholders on data warehouse-related queries and issues
- Participate in the design and implementation of data warehouse solutions, including data modeling and schema design
- Collaborate with data engineers and data analysts to ensure data quality and accuracy in the data warehouse
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of new tools and technologies to enhance the data warehouse infrastructure
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Data Warehouse Support Engineer, preferably with Snowflake
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and best practices
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL processes and tools
- Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing platforms, preferably Snowflake
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques for data warehouse environments
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Snowflake certification(s)
- Experience with other data warehousing platforms such as Redshift, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse Analytics
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Familiarity with data governance and data security practices in a data warehouse environment
