About the role
Design and installation of components on chassis, along with packaging studies, considering diversity and securing stakeholder alignment.
Design of castings, sheet metal, and rubber components.
Creation of engineering drawings and application of GD&T practices.
Design and packaging of hydraulic routings and connections will be an added advantage.
Prepare designs, 3D models, drawings, and schematics as per Volvo requirements.
Create and update CAD modules.
Documentation and release of solutions in KOLA (Volvo documentation tool) as per defined instructions.
Execute activities as directed by the Volvo Team Lead/Lead Engineer according to the project plan.
Report daily activity status and planned activities to the Team Leader.
5–8 years of experience in Product Development, preferably in the Truck/Commercial Vehicle industry.
Strong expertise in Creo CAD and PDM Link, with hands-on experience handling large assemblies, layouts, sheet metal components, hydraulic systems, castings, and engineering drawings.
Excellent knowledge of GD&T with practical application experience.
Strong engineering fundamentals, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Good understanding of KOLA and DCN release processes.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and design considerations.
