About the role
We are looking for a senior staff backend engineer to lead the design and development of scalable backend systems powering next-gen robotics and automation platforms. You will work closely with robotics, AI, and hardware teams to build highly reliable, real-time, and distributed systems.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and build high-performance backend systems for robotics control, telemetry, and automation workflows.
- Design scalable microservices and distributed systems handling real-time data streams.
- Collaborate with robotics, firmware, and AI/ML teams for seamless system integration.
- Develop APIs and backend services for robot fleet management, monitoring, and orchestration.
- Ensure low latency, high availability, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Drive technical strategy and system design reviews, and mentor senior engineers.
- Optimise data pipelines and backend performance for real-time decision-making.
- Implement best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 10-15 years of backend engineering experience in product-based companies.
- Strong expertise in Java / Golang / Python.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with real-time data processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc. )
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure).
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with IoT, robotics systems, or industrial automation platforms is highly preferred.
- Strong system design, scalability, and performance optimisation skills.
