About the role
Requirements:
- 3-7 years of professional software development experience, ideally in gaming, live-service products, backend platforms, or complex web applications.
- Deep backend engineering expertise in Python and strong experience with Django or comparable server-side frameworks.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable backend systems, internal platforms, and API-driven applications in large production codebases.
- Strong understanding of relational data modelling, ORM behaviour, and query optimisation in performance-sensitive systems.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, Redis, and ideally DynamoDB or similar data stores.
- Experience designing and supporting asynchronous job systems, scheduled workflows, and operational processes in production environments.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across application code, data issues, system performance, and cross-service integrations.
- Familiarity with containerised development workflows and cloud infrastructure, especially AWS-based environments.
- Strong grasp of system design, maintainability, engineering tradeoffs, and long-lived service ownership.
- Experience in improving testing practices, code quality, and architectural consistency across shared codebases.
- Experience with frontend-adjacent collaboration or admin tool ecosystems; Vue.js familiarity is a plus.
