Role Overview
The Sr Windows Server Administrator P3 is responsible for advanced administration optimization and lifecycle management of Windowsbased infrastructure in enterprise environments The role involves capacity planning performance tuning problem management highavailability configuration and driving operational excellence across hybrid platforms OnPrem VMware Hyper V Azure OCI
The engineer acts as an L3 escalation point ensuring reliability scalability and compliance of the Windows platform while aligning with architecture and transformation objectives
Key Responsibilities
1 Capacity Management Performance Engineering
Ensure ongoing monitoring of infrastructure performance to validate capacity sufficiency
Provide trend analysis and forecasting for capacity planning and upgrades
Perform capacity monitoring analysis and tuning activities CPU memory storage IOPS
Implement capacityrelated changes and optimization initiatives
Perform threshold tuning and optimization for proactive monitoring
Collaborate with architecture teams to align capacity planning with growth projections
2 Server Lifecycle Management Upgrade Migration
Lead Windows Server upgrades and migration activities across environments
Execute and validate
oOS Upgrades
oData migrations
oPlatform modernization initiatives VMware Hyper V Cloud
Ensure minimal downtime and risk mitigation during migrations
Support postmigration validation and stabilization
3 High Availability Clustering
Designaligned execution of Windows Failover Cluster configuration
Implement and manage
oCluster setup
oQuorum configuration
oFailover policies
Perform cluster health monitoring and troubleshooting
4 Active Directory Policy Management
Create and manage Group Policies GPOs aligned with enterprise standards
Provide oversight for
oDomain policies
oSecurity baselines
Support complex troubleshooting related to AD and GPO replication issues
5 Security Patch Vulnerability Management
Identify and recommend patching strategy and deployment scope
Analyze and interpret vulnerability scan reports eg QualysTenable
Create and execute remediation plans for vulnerabilities
Define and implement antivirus rules and endpoint security policies
Ensure adherence to security baselines and compliance standards
6 Monitoring Backup Tool Configuration
Configure enterprise monitoring tools as per architecturedesign SCOM SolarWinds etc
Perform threshold tuning and correlation improvements
Configure backup tools eg Veeam Commvault Rubrik based on RPORTO requirements
Validate backup integrity and perform restore testing
7 Automation Scripting
Design and develop PowerShell scripts for automation across
oProvisioning
oMonitoring
oPatch validation
oOperational health checks
Improve efficiency through task automation and standardization
8 Problem Management RCA
Perform root cause analysis RCA for major incidents and recurring issues
Drive problem management lifecycle including
oIssue identification
oTrend analysis
oPermanent fix implementation
Maintain and enhance knowledge base and reusable solutions
9 Risk Compliance Management
Identify operational and platform risks proactively
Develop and execute risk mitigation plans
Participate in audit readiness and compliance reporting
