SRE Engineer

We are seeking a motivated Engineer to deliver exceptional solutions for the production resiliency of our Advisor Data and Tech Integration Applications. This role incorporates aspects of software engineering and operations, utilizing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices that embrace automation to effectively oversee critical Data applications both in Cloud and on-premise. The successful candidate will hold a high level of responsibility and accountability to deliver technical solutions that maintain the resilience of our applications.

• Practice Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and solve problems through automation and innovation, augmenting SRE principles and guidelines.
• Partner with Architects and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Application Support Teams (AST) to ensure implementations are architected and designed with a focus on production resiliency.
• Identify opportunities to build innovative tools and solve unique operational problems on large enterprise and mission-critical applications.
• Perform real-time troubleshooting of mission-critical application workflows and participate in on-call escalations.
• Oversee nightly batch runs to ensure no SLA breaches occur and that data files are delivered to client firms on time.
• Collaborate closely with development teams during the design phase, building and performing infrastructure upgrades to support application availability and reliability.
• Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies due to aging technologies, improve compliance procedures, and enhance risk posture.
• Partner with support organizations to build and roll out plans for enhanced telemetry and reduce defect leakage in software delivery to production.

• Proven track record leading complex enterprise production applications in GCP-based platforms (Vertex AI, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, Looker) or in AWS, Azure.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Thousand Eyes, Extrahop, Datadog, and Prometheus.
• Database experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Aerospike.
• Experience in high availability systems, data networks, NAS and networking, IP routing, leveraging tools to instrument and automate proactive and predictive availability solutions.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitHub), CICD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Proven capability to provide operational visibility on environmental health to senior leadership, technology, and business partners.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a receptive and approachable demeanor.

• Experience with C#, .NET, JAVA, and scripting languages.
• Hands-on experience with messaging systems such as IBM MQ, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
• Ability to positively interact with business partners, technology teams, and vendor professional services.

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
