About the role
Requirements:
- 9+ years of backend engineering experience, including ownership of complex systems in production.
- Proven track record of architecting and operating large-scale distributed systems (high throughput, low latency, high availability).
- Deep expertise in system design, including scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
- Strong ability to lead technical strategy and execute in ambiguous problem spaces.
- Experience leading large cross-team initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and driving alignment through technical design.
- Strong understanding of security, privacy, compliance, and secure coding practices.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and structured problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively across time zones.
- High bar expectation: we are hiring for the top 10% of the market.
- Strong preference for candidates from top engineering schools in India.
- Strong preference for candidates from consumer-facing, product-focused tech companies (high scale, high-quality bar).
Nice to have:
- Fintech experience (lending, credit, cards, payments, risk, fraud, underwriting).
- Experience designing systems that support mobile-first consumer products.
- Experience with observability, incident management, and reliability programs at scale.
