About the role
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Architect resilient, fault-tolerant backend systems and distributed services.
- Drive backend scalability, performance, reliability, and system design decisions.
- Work with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and MongoDB to optimize data systems.
- Build event-driven architectures using RabbitMQ/Kafka and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with Product, Frontend, Data, and Infrastructure teams.
- Mentor engineers and drive engineering best practices across teams.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience in high-scale product environments.
- Strong expertise in Node.js and/or Python.
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Strong ownership, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives and architectural decisions.
Good to Have:
- Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD experience.
- Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with WebSockets/SSE and monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
